Health and Safety is the premier concern when dealing with asbestos. Our Health and Safety Manager ensures that all operations are carried out to the highest standard and employees given every assistance in maintaining their own safety through mandatory training and ongoing further personal development. Calling on the services of Independent Asbestos Safety Consultants to add to our considerable experience and knowledge ARDS are well placed to offer advice and consultation on Asbestos Abatement from domestic situations to multi million pound redevelopment projects.
Most of our site supervisors are qualified under the CITB Supervisors Site Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) giving them the additional training required to operate safely in most environments. We are currently rolling out a training program aimed at having all site based staff trained to NVQ Level 2 and 3, a soon to be industry requirement to demonstrate competency within the workforce. Currently we have 25 % holding that qualification. Our senior managers hold various qualifications including CITB Site Managers Training Scheme to IOSH Managing safety in Construction and NEBOSH Health & Safety Certification. We are now one of the first to have achieved the latest industry standard, NVQ Level 4, which leads to membership of the ARMI (Asbestos Removal Management Institute Ltd) an innovative scheme wholly supported by the HSE and promoted recently on their latest Leadership Meetings held in local HSE offices across the country.
Our efforts have led to the industry recognised "Construction line" & "CHAS" accreditations. Looking at Health and Safety Procedures, Documentation and Training these accreditations acknowledges the high standards set by ARDS.
ARDS is continuing in its commitment to be involved at the forefront of initiatives which lead to a further improvement in the standards across the asbestos industry. Who else would you think of having carried out removal of such potentially dangerous materials from your premises.
